kio is a function of the Qt/KDE enviroment. Its not an application layer that can be added to GTK application. This is a point that many many many people seem to miss. Because Gnome is so badly designed, this kind of functionality is simply not do-able on Gnome,
That's just crap. The original poster was talking about making i/o slaves mountable, in the same way /proc is for example. Gnome could then access those mounted files just like any other file.
