I doubt that OSX will ever really be considered by most companys, Mac hardware is just too expensive. Which has always been the downfall for Apple.

Problem with OS/X is the office suite. Right now you don't have a real alternative in Open Office. Yes, it runs, but is not integrated into the window system. I use it myself, but could not honestly recommend it in a corporate rollout.

So that leaves the Microsoft Office for OS/X. You still end up paying licence fees, and the user interface has been Mac-ised, leading to some re-training requirements. I've had users comment to me that OpenOffice.org on the Mac looked far more like Microsoft Office than MS Office itself!

Now if someone wanted to pay the salaries of an OO.o developer or two .....

My little brother and I are home users, so this is quite off-topic. It's a shame professionals and office staff are so afraid of change, and computers overall. My brother admits he is a computer novice, Windows or otherwise. The computer I gave him runs Slackware Linux. He poked around the IceWM menu for about half an hour, found himself a browser, IM client, mail software, word processor etc. and is now quite at home. I asked him recently if he wanted to use Windows instead, and he replied "Why?". My grandmother also took Knoppix for a spin, circumventing the installation part of Linux operation, and didn't see any reason why she couldn't use it as easilly as Windows and MS Office for her publishing work on a local navy veterans magazine. They found applications they could use, and the rest was simple. I wish business were more like this.
