Problem with panel: Xfce-4.0.6 and Xorg-6.7: msg#00102xfce.user
I finally have the proper driver for my video card so I'm running at 1280x1024 dpi resolution. Now, however, the panel no longer auto hides -- at least not on three invocations of startx this evening. Perhaps this is related to the new X server. I tried Olivier's suggestion of turning auto hide off and on. Makes no difference. While there's a lot of real estate on the monitor at this resolution, and I'm used to the panel being present all the time from xfce-1 through -3.8.18, I do like it to hide itself. I downloaded the xfce4-session code and will build it tomorrow. Is it also possible to modify the panel so that rather than seeing little images of windows in each virtual desktop I can see a name for the application I keep in each one? This is also a dropped feature that I used constantly for years and I miss it. Thanks, Rich -- Dr. Richard B. Shepard, President Applied Ecosystem Services, Inc.
