xfce.user

Subject: Re: How to deactivate Xft in xfce

Your solution work.
My version of firefox and thunderbird obey to this variable. But i've got problem with fonts of menubar. To fix it, i've modified userChrome.css :

kyu@minus:~$ cat .mozilla/firefox/default.jf6/chrome/userChrome.css
* {
        font-family: sans ;
        font-size: 10px ;
}

So now, i have a new problem ... how to keep antialiasing for gdesklet :) (it is no important, the most problems i've been resolved, it's just to have the perfect desktop ;) )

Hi ...

Add 'Xft.antialias: False' in your ~/.Xdefaults.

The only apps still honoring GDK_USE_XFT are firefox and thunderbird,
and the only gtk2 based apps that render 'Courier' like I want.

AA sucks sometimes and turning it off is a pain as well.

Good luck.
