Hi ... Add 'Xft.antialias: False' in your ~/.Xdefaults. The only apps still honoring GDK_USE_XFT are firefox and thunderbird, and the only gtk2 based apps that render 'Courier' like I want. AA sucks sometimes and turning it off is a pain as well. Good luck.
