nautlilus icons

 Hello 
 Im fairly new to xfce and i like to use nautilus as my file browser and
have noticed i cannot get any icon themes to work, even the default one
doesnt work. Is there a way i can fix this problem. Im using version
4.0.6 on my gentoo system. Thanks.
