RE: XFCE: Use another GTK Engine: msg#00134xfce.user
First, thanks Charles. I've build from source because when I wanted to install last version of xfce it was not available as rpm and I wanted to have the couple GTK+XFCE optimized for 686 cpu. Nevertheless, you are certainly right about the fact there is an Xfce conflicting paths/option. (even if I build it with standard options without changing anything). When I use the Settings Manager, all listed gtk themes are the one provided with xfce packages. All other themes (even if they are installed in /usr/share/themes/... and have a gtk-2.0 subfolders like Xfce themes) are not listed. Is there some environment variables or config files to setup? Perhaps the problem comes from the fact I builder GTK 2.4 because: - I put a .gtkrc file in my home directory; - I launch "grip", installed from Mandrake 10 so I think it is builded to use gtk 1; - nothing happens; - but if I put a .gtkrc-2.0 file, it starts with printing the warning previously given (Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "XXXX"). Unless you 'just want to' there is no reason for you to build Xfce from source. Mdk 10.0 and 9.2 rpms for All Xfce-4.0.6 pkgs, as well as "goodies", are available from my website. As to changing themes that is Usually easily accomplished using the 'Settings Manager' Not knowing the manner in which you installed the sources it may be that you need to update your PATH environment. It also my be that you are giving Xfce conflicting paths/option. Mdk does not include or use the gtk-xfce-engine. In 10.0 we use gtk-engines-0.12-8mdk gtk-themes-1.0-10mdk which includes all available themes and engines Charles -- Women are just like men, only different. ---------------------- Mandrake Linux 10.0 on BigBoy #184142 Registered Linux user #182463 *http://www.eslrahc.com* 2.6.5-1.tmb.6mdkenterprise ---------------------- _______________________________________________ Xfce mailing list Xfce@xxxxxxxx http://lunar-linux.org/mailman/listinfo/xfce http://www.xfce.org |
