Not as easy of a task! but after running: gconftool-2 --set --type=bool /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http/enabled true gconftool-2 --set --type=string /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http/command 'opera %s' gconftool-2 --set --type=bool /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http/need-terminal false it seems to be working like a charm!
