Initial Comment:
Getting a clean copy of wix from CVS I get an error 
building votive.msi.
Candle gives warning on deprecated usage of 
RegistrySearch/@Type='registry'

Light gives the following errors when it tries to find files:
D:\sourceforge\wix\src\votive\Setup\Votive.wxs(134) : 
error LGHT0101 : The file with id 'light.exe.manifest' and 
name 'light.man|light.exe.manifest' could not be found 
with source 
path: 'D:\sourceforge\wix\release\debug\light.exe.manife
st'.

D:\sourceforge\wix\src\votive\Setup\Votive.wxs(146) : 
error LGHT0101 : The file with id 'mergemod.dll' and 
name 'mergemod.dll' could not be found with source 
path: 'D:\sourceforge\wix\release\debug\mergemod.dll'.

NMAKE : fatal error 
U1077: 'D:\sourceforge\wix\release\debug\light' : return 
code '0x65'
