Hi,

I think that because either
1. the .NET framework version is not 1.1
2. You do not have the latest Oracle.NET drivers. Check out
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=4f55d429-17dc-45ea-
bfb3-076d1c052524&DisplayLang=en

Please note the following wrt Oracle.NET drivers.
This release does not work with distributed transactions. For more
information, please see Knowledge Base Article 322343.

Hi,

Now to satisfy my doubt I have added oledb Data Provider. So now I have
2 providers Oracle Client and OleDB Provider.

Now I have 2 Functions First Return DataSet one uses OracleClient and
Other one OleDB.

Observation : OracleClient DataProvider return Junk Vaues

OleDB dataprovider return correct values.

Conclusion : Better be aware of using OracleCleint Data Provider.

Thought: Any new version of OracleClient Provider is available for
downloads??

Mihir

HI,

Which version of the .NET Framework are you using?

Oracle.NET data provider works well with .NET Framework 1.1.

Subject: [DOTNET-WINFORMS] DataGrid Binding Display Junk Characters

Hi listener,

Scenario: I am using DataGrid control on the windows forms extensively
through out the application, Now I am observing a typical issue.

The Datagrid is binded to Dataset with Oracle as database with
Oracle.NET provider. In the development machine the data is displayed
properly.

Now when I am deploying the application on the clean machine with .NET
framework install not vs.net, the Databinding is having properly but the
values displayed in some of the grid column show junk(bar) values like
Employe N|||...,

Do I need to install some .NET service pack ?

What is the actually problem and solution?

Thanks in advance.

Mihir.
