adding to the middle of a string better organized

Since all the garbage I still have probably confused
most of you I'll make this question with an example

let's say I have a string

Please visit http://KirkhamsEbooks.8m.com for ebooks
videos and software

Now let's say I don't know what the link is so I have
to parse the link to make it a variable

How do I then add

Please visit <A HREF="http://KirkhamsEbooks.8m.com for
ebooks videos and
software">http://KirkhamsEbooks.8m.com</A>

So I can go from text to html

I can parse the link (wrote it didn't try it), but I
don't know how to put the parsed link and changes back
into the original text string
