Subject: Ploe3.0.5: error after installing NuPLone - msg#00046

List: web.zope.plone.setup

Date: Prev Next Index Thread: Prev Next Index
Hi everyone,

I have plone3.0.5.

I installed NuPlone, a new product which comes on the installation of
plone. I just went to "Products" on the setup, checked the box, NuPlone,
and then pressed the "install" button.

When I accessed the site i got the error:

I also installed LinguaPlone, but i think the problem comes with NuPlone...

error: Python was built with Visual Studio 2003

This is a multi-part message in MIME format. Dear all,I've a new notebook ( winxp ), and I'm not able to finish my buildout construction as I'm getting the same error even, when compiling Zope.I'm following the standard guideline found here : http://plone.org/documentation/tutorial/buildout/creating-a-buildout-for-your-projectIncluding actions reported in comments. Here the last lines of the buildout log:************************************* Installing zope2.running build_extcreating zope.proxycopying zope/proxy\proxy.h -> zope.proxyerror: Python was built with Visual Studio 2003; extensions must be built with a compiler than can generate compatible binaries.Visual Studio 2003 was not found on this system. If you have Cygwin installed, you can try compiling with MingW32, by passing "-c mingw32" to setup.py.While:  Installing zope2. An internal error occured due to a bug in either zc.buildout or in a recipe being used: AssertionError: **************************************Thanks in advance,A.C.

easy_install leads to <PloneSite at broken>

1. install Plone 2. start Plone, <http://localhost:8080/Plone> is OK 3. easy_install something, for example sudo /Applications/Plone-3.0.5/Python-2.4.4/bin/easy_install Products.Ploneboard 4. restart Plone 5. <http://localhost:8080/Plone> presents <PloneSite at broken> Not a Ploneboard issue. Other examples exist. <http://plone.org/products/ploneboard/issues/157> describes an installation problem. * What, if anything, can be done to minimise the occurrence of such problems? My experience is that where easy_install fails, buildout with the same eggs succeeds. It's the time wasted through problems with easy_install that causes me to say so often in IRC, "buildout is our friend". I see that buildout will be a future base for all installers <http://dev.plone.org/plone/ticket/7853> :) -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/easy_install-leads-to-%3CPloneSite-at-broken%3E-tp15515016s15482p15515016.html Sent from the Installation, Setup, Upgrades mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
