How do you *uninstall* a GenericSetup product?

Plone newbie here ... I have successfully created a simple product using
GenericSetup, that does things like replace the footer and the logo of my
site.

However, when I remove the product from my plone site, the changes (replaced
logo, footer) do not go away.

I assume I need to create some kind of "uninstall" method to put things back
the way they were, but after much searching, I have no idea how/where to do
this.

Can some kind expert enlighten me?
