Re: Plone 3.0 upgrade in Windows: msg#00011web.zope.plone.setup
Hello, >Better practice is to create a new Plone directory, say /Plone3. In my case, I renamed up my Plone 2.5 folder "plone 2" to "plone 2_backup", and then did a fresh install of Plone 3.0 into the same machine. Plone 3.0 also installs into the folder name "plone 2." Plone 3.0 runs fine by itself, but I need to migrate all of the user information and contents from my previous version of plone. So, I took my Data.fs ONLY from my old, renamed plone folder and overwrote the Data.fs file in my new plone 3 installation inside the "plone 2" folder with it. After doing so, I started plone, but I was not able to log into the Zope Management Interface with either my old or newly set login/password information. I also could not logon with the "emergency" user I tried making. I was hoping I could logon, not see a "broken" plone item, and then go through the migration process. Any ideas on what I could do?
