Yes. Check my Frames-enabled and non-frames enabled site example, here:

http://vipe.technion.ac.il/~shlomif/lecture/WebMetaLecture/slides/frames/

It is similar to what you want.

Thanks, that did it! Well, almost. I didn't figure out how to insert code when a slice is NOT defined :-( Inserting something unless I explictly undefine works, but seems a bit clumsy.
