Choosing A Webhost:
A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to provide their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server they own for use by their clients as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center. Web hosts can also provide data center space and connectivity to the Internet for servers they do not own to be located in their data center, called colocation. more...

This is indeed currently the case, but I don't like the situation
better than anyone else. In fact, things have been different for a while;
for example, Dan Harkless was co-developer for a while.

The patch mailing list and the patch review process were designed to be
simple and to get other people to join. And some people did indeed join,
but most have left for other obligations -- Dan Harkless, Ian Abbott, Jan
Prikryl.

Granting write access to CVS is easy, at least for those who willing to
assign copyright to the FSF. However, the GNU project requires a person
to be the official maintainer. In my absence the person who would coordinate
releases should also talk to Richard Stallman and see that he is accepted
as the project coordinator, which can post releases to ftp.gnu.org.

If someone (presumably a person who has submitted patches, is willing to
assign them, and understands the code) is willing to do this, please follow
up. Don't forget to Cc hniksic@xxxxxxxxxxx
