I just
tested this on the UNIX release wget-1.8.2.tar.gz and still came across the same
problem. WGET creates files such as "subdirectory\filename.html" in the
main directory. It then tries to get the images from filename.html, but
cannot, since it has not traveled down
into subdirectory.

I was testing WGET
v1.9 for Win32 under Windows 2000 Professional. When trying to grab
sites that have HTML files created in MS Word 2000, it cannot go through the
site correctly. I believe the reason is that MS Word uses a \ instead of
/ in the HREFs and SRCs. Therefore it cannot correctly mirror the
site. Has this been corrected in newer versions? If more info on
my testing is needed, you can drop me e-mail and I can send the wget log file
and the site's directory structure to the the list.
Thanks.
