Hi,

You forgot another requirement of Horde/IMP: PHP 4.0.6+ (for the latest
version).

But, anyway, I don't think it makes sense to integrate something like
IMP into webmin. The idea of (web|user)min is that you don't need other
services running in order to see your local mail.

You are right. But I was hoping that as Usermin matures it could become
a really nice control panel that our users can use to access all our
ISP services. The requirement to have PHP and Pear installed in order
to run IMP is easily satisfied by installing a couple of RPMs. Like I
said in my original message, a basic facility could be made available
if the environment cannot support IMP. But I feel that the effort
required by the Webmin/Usermin design team to add some of the really
useful email facilities would be outweighed by the effort required to
integrate the two Webmin/Usermin and IMP.

Just one comment:

"design team" = Jamie Cameron

Webmin and Usermin is a one man operation. Ok, there are patches now and then from other folks, and every once in a while a whole module slides in from someone else...I think Postfix and QMail are examples of that. And credit is also due to the translators. But we owe thanks for the design and vast majority of the implementation to Jamie.

Just being a picker of nits. ;-)
