You are right. But I was hoping that as Usermin matures it could become
a really nice control panel that our users can use to access all our
ISP services. The requirement to have PHP and Pear installed in order
to run IMP is easily satisfied by installing a couple of RPMs. Like I
said in my original message, a basic facility could be made available
if the environment cannot support IMP. But I feel that the effort
required by the Webmin/Usermin design team to add some of the really
useful email facilities would be outweighed by the effort required to
integrate the two Webmin/Usermin and IMP.

I guess I am just being selfish here, but I really like the way the
Webmin/Usermin designers have integrated the control/access of many
facilities into one unit with a consistent look and feel. If this is
taken to its logical conclusion, then it would become very attractive
for ISPs to make Usermin available as a control panel via which users
can access the facilities. So users can read/send mail, setup mail
forwarding and auto-replies, handle MySQL databases, change passwords,
manage webspace, etc., etc., etc., all from one control panel with a
consistent look and feel. OK, maybe this was not the original design
goal for Usermin, but.......

Regards !
