What would be really cool is to try to combine IMP/Horde (www.horde.org)
with Webmin. I have heard of someone trying to do this but I cant find
any references to the project. IMP is a great webmail tool and reads mail
using the IMAP/POP protocol (instead of directly from files) and sends
mail using SMTP or Sendmail. It also has a great addressbook and user
preferences can be stored in a SQL database.

As an initial integration exercise, all that would be required is for
Webmin to manage the IMP/Horde configuration files and for Webmin and
Usermin to call IMP with the correct username and password.

I know that in order to use IMP the user would need to have a working
IMAP or POP server. I guess that Webmin could offer a basic email
facility in an environment without IMAP/POP/SMTP configured for normal
email traffic and an advanced facility using something like IMP.

Any thoughts ?

Regards !
