Strange Sendmail Error

Hi again,
        This is quite bizarre - I have been beavering away & thought I had
the OSX server just about right, but when I went to start sendmail just now
(only found out when I looked at the status of sendmail), I get the
following errors:


# /usr/sbin/sendmail -bd
451 4.0.0 /etc/mail/sendmail.cf: line 72: fileclass: cannot open
'/etc/mail/local-host-names': World Writable Directory
451 4.0.0 /etc/mail/sendmail.cf: line 126: fileclass: cannot open
'/etc/mail/canonify-domains': World Writable Directory

        I've tried setting the permissions via chmod go-w & chown to both
files & directories, but that hasn't helped. Can anybody suggest anything?
I've looked around the Sendmail site, but can't see anything much related
that's helped.
