Re: miniserv and cookies: msg#00494web.webmin.general
James B. Byrne wrote: Since many people now employ personal firewall software that blocks web server cookies, or configure their browsers to do so, I think that it would be worthwhile to have a notice in the webmin login dialogue window to the effect that proper operation of webmin relies on cookies. I believe that my earlier problem with webmin that arose after my recent upgrade to the apache http server was related to this issue, and I have run up against it again on a linux box where mozilla was configured to refuse cookies. If you try to login with cookies disabled, webmin should display an error message saying that cookies are not working in your browser. It is possible to configure webmin to not use cookies by removing the session=1 line from /etc/webmin/miniserv.conf and then re-starting .. this will revert back to standard HTTP authentication. - Jamie ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Caffeinated soap.
