It would be nice if Webmin used the correct whois server to
lookup information for a domain. The easiest way to provide
this would be to add an extra field to each domain which
would contain optional parameters to be passed to the whois
command. But the best way would be for Webmin to be built
with a table which maps domain siffix to whois server, with
the table being editable (is there such a word?) by the user.

Yeah, currently the whois feature really only works for .com/.net/.org
domains, not subdomains under country-specific TLDs. I would love to
add support for that, but like you said it would mean finding out which
whois servers are responsible for each TLD. Does anyone out there
know if there is such a list?

Also, we are about to make use of the Dynamic Update feature
of BIND 8 and 9. Are there any plans for Webmin to display
zone information by querying the named server if it is running
and to update zone information using nsupdate if "allow-updates"
has been defined for a zone?

No, nothing like that is planned at the moment ..
