Was MiniServ created for Webmin, or did it exist somewhere else before? I'm
looking around for a small, lightweight Perl based web server for another

miniserv dist around somewhere? I've tried (rather unsuccessfully) to
extract the files from webmin to enable miniserv to run on it's own.

I've found a couple of other Perl based servers such as plexus and httpi,
however they seem to be lacking some important features I need such as SSL.

Any thoughts?

Miniserv was written specially for webmin, but it is general enough to run
on its own if you wanted to use it in a different project. You really just need
miniserv.pl, miniserv.conf and maybe miniserv.users . It is best to remove the
session=1 line from miniserv.conf to use normal HTTP authentication mode, which
doesn't need the additional session_login.cgi script.
