The i18n WG feels that it will be confusing to people to see the dc:language
declaration in the example, and that one of two things should therefore
happen:

1. remove the dc:language line from the example

2. explain in the text that it is not clear what is the likely effect of
including dc:language as shown, nor how that information should relate to
the xml:lang attribute.

Cheers,
RI

Issue R103-21

Proposed Classification: Clarification / Typo / Editorial

Resolution: Reject

We do not see any relationship between the two declarations. The
attribute xml:lang is mandatory in PLS and dc:language will be
ignored.

Please indicate whether you are satisfied with the VBWG's
resolution,
whether you think there has been a misunderstanding, or whether you
wish
to register an objection.

Paolo Baggia, editor PLS spec.

Comment:
How is dc:language="en-US" meant to be interpreted if it appears in
a
metadata element? How does it affect the xml:lang declaration on PLS
elements?
