Dear Team,                I am a developer working on SVG. I downloaded SVG idls (svg.idl, css.idl, stylesheets.idl, view.idl, events.idl, smil.idl and dom.idl) from the w3c site. What I am trying to achieve is to use these idls and develop methods and function to be used with MSXML.   Since the IDLs are developed in CORBA Syntax I am finding it difficult to be used with Microsoft programming languages (either VC++ or VB). Can anyone point me in the right direction to find out how this could be archived and furthermore anyone has attempted to do it or perhaps somewhere already implemented?   Would it be possible to get in touch with the IDL team who developed the above IDLs?     Regards   Chan

1.2 audio formats

It'd be nice if SVG 1.2 mandated support for a lossless audio format. Maybe FLAC (http://flac.sourceforge.net/)?

Maybe FLAC (http://flac.sourceforge.net/)? http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ : "FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) maintains a lossless audio compression codec suitable for preserving audio without sacrificing any audio quality. The FLAC project joined Xiph.org in late January, in 2003." http://flac.sourceforge.net/ http://flac.sourceforge.net/goals.html : " Goals * FLAC should be and stay an open format with an open-source reference implementation. * FLAC should be lossless. This seems obvious but lossy compression seems to creep into every audio codec. This goal also means that flac should stay archival quality and be truly lossless for all input. Testing of releases should be thorough. * FLAC should yield respectable compression, on par or better than other lossless codecs. * FLAC should allow at least realtime decoding on even modest hardware. * FLAC should support fast sample-accurate seeking. * FLAC should allow gapless playback of consecutive streams. This follows from the lossless goal. [...]" Sounds good. The Ogg people http://www.vorbis.com/ also have (a) video format(s) in the works. Tobi -- http://www.pinkjuice.com/
