Papy: a parental filter for Privoxy: msg#00026web.privoxy.user
Dear all This is the first anouncement concerning PaPy: a tool that I have developed for personal use, but I am making public in the hope to be also usefull to others. There is a webpage at www.papy.no.sapo.pt. Essentially it improves the Privoxy content filtering capabilities by adding a mechanism to identify potentially suspicious combinations of words, many of which are typical of porn sites, etc. It is a bit more evolved than finding single words. I found it by experience quite reasonable for protecting children from inadvertently accessing objectionable sites. For the moment it contains filters in English and Portuguese, but, as it uses Privoxy, there is a considerable room for customization and improvement, including the inclusion of filters for other languages.
