Subject: Fwd: YADIS in one sentence

Ya know, my term for the new web is: the new web. I don't use the term, and believe the use of version numbers as evil anyway. How you could apply version 2.0 to the web, without referring to protocols, is beyond me. But if you don't think these words are convincing, use other ones. I'm assuming we're talking to someone who will be impressed by buzzword bingo.

No two pitches are the same. Use your best judgement. YMMV. If your target needs blog features, or single-sign-on, then that's great. But here's my buzz-free pitch:
"If anyone knows you by a web address, than you've got a web identity. And all around today's web we can find interesting distributed services. So you need a way to tie your web identity to the services you need and use. That is what Yadis does."

And now, here's another small sentence yet:
"Yadis ties your web identity to the services you need and use."

in my opinion, hitting people with new buzzwords that they don't know either

I would say "YADIS currently offers a single-sign-in service for blogs,
so you don't have to make an account on a blog service you don't normally
use just to leave a comment."

(What? 2.0? Web has existed for over a decade and they're only on version 2?)

Short version: "Yadis ties services to your Web 2.0 identity"

Long version:
"A Web 2.0 Identity exists on the web. So it must be a URL. If anyone
knows you by a URL, you've got a web identity. Web 2.0 gives us
distributed services all around the web. So a Web 2.0 Identity needs
to be tied into the services you need and use. That is what Yadis does."
