These are both good, but you really gotta start off less technical.  After
all, the reason for a one liner is to get the attention of the suits (if you
manage to pique their interest, their techies will get in touch with you).

How about something like:

YADIS is an open interoperability layer supporting multiple efforts working to
create safe, secure and flexible user-controlled digital identity.
