RE: Cork City Council's website wins a Golden Spider Award: msg#00008

Subject: RE: Cork City Council's website wins a Golden Spider Award
Guys

I forwarded this thread to a friend of mine who works for the council
(not on the site I hasten to add) - and he made a good point.

"Have these posted a comment card? If not it would be great if they did
I like seeing people's comfort zone shaken a bit."

The URL for all interested in commenting on what is after all a disgrace
to web developers everywhere -
http://www.corkcity.ie/citizeninfo/your_say.shtml

I believe the official reason for the lack of browser compatibility is
so that the site would be accessible to people with visual disabilities
(screen readers and so on) - make of that what you will. So maybe if we
can get non IE use classified as a disability they might make it work
for us.

Fergal.

It's even worse in Safari. Lord alone knows what it's like in Lynx - I
didn't bother. So much for the visually disadvantaged in Cork.
