"When you are using IE all links are converted to absolute form
by the browser (there is no way to avoid this). For this reason,
Kupu on Plone converts all link href and img src attributes from
absolute to relative when saving.

If you are seeing a problem after you have saved your document
there may be a bug in the code to make links relative, but what
you see when you view HTML in Kupu is not what will be saved."
