I'm sure there is a different way to do this, but here's what my problem is and the method I'm trying to use to solve it:
Flickr is used to store an artist's portfolio. The portfolio is broken into different sections and each section can contain one or more works of art. Each work of art can have one or more photos.
So, everything in the portfolio has a tag of "portfolio". Then each particular work of art is given a tag to match it's corresponding section, say: paintings and murals. Then the photos are grouped into photosets based by work of art.
This is the strucure:
-portfolio
-paintings
-name of work
image 1
image 2
-name of work
image 1
image 2
...
-murals
-name of work
image 1
image 2
-name of work
image 1
image 2
...
I'm limited to using WordPress and have opted to use the plugin
falbum.
What I'm attempting to do is display a thumbnail for each section of the portfolio, then clicking on the thumbnail gives a view of all the photosets within that section (not every photo matching the tag criteria, only one photo per work of art).
Basically, I'd be creating dynamic photosets that meet tag critera.
In terms of Flickr, I'm trying to merge this view:
http://flickr.com/photos/USERNAME/sets/
With this view:
http://flickr.co
m/photos/USERNAME/search/tags:mytag/
I'm very open to suggestions to make this easier, as long as it is easy to maintain and most importantly, easy for the client to maintain the photos (add new photosets to a particular section, etc..).
