Subject: Combined feeds for groups - msg#00151
List: web.flickr.api
Hi all.
My first offering. A bit pointless, but it's taught me lots (and I
find it useful, if no one else does!). It's a method of combing up to
5 separate groups into one manageable feed.
E.g. if you like cats, there are 4 or 5 "cat groups" on Flickr. So
you can now combine all these into just one feed, and catch up on all
those photos.
Or you could mix and match 2 or 3 completely wacky feeds, like I do,
which brightens up your feed-reader a bit :) You can start here:
http://mailliw.com/flickr/groups.php
It's very basic, and I'm just looking for some feedback - only tested
in FeedDemon and Bloglines so far.
Thoughts welcome,

Having to stop dev for now due to search server problems
Just an update. 11:19 AM EST on June 25. "Can't
connect to server" errors when doing a photo search
are rampant. Stopping dev for now until the situation
clears up. I'll check again every 4 hours or so.
Thanks.

Update to Spell with Flickr
I didn't want to post this to the API group, as there isn't much to say :)
I updated the spell with flickr site (http://metaatem.net/words/),
mostly code clean up.
* I got rid of the annoying hover to link back to flickr, and now
just use a seperate box.
* Spaces are preserved in the main output.
* I went to Inline images instead of Floats (why I ever used floats
in the first place is beyond me)
also, I added a yubnub command "fspell".

RE: Combined feeds for groups
Nice job. I signed up right away.
1. Why does the name of the feed matter? ("If someone else has chosen the
same groups as you already, theirs take priority and yours is ignored.")
2. Can you provide the ability to add a group by name?
