Is there any reason for the browser to use the bar.css style in the print
stylesheet? I'm thinking no, since they specify different media, but just
wanted to check with the experts.
You're correct: it won't apply to the printed output, because the
'bar.css' stylesheet has been targeted to the screen medium. Neither
will it apply to projection, aural, tty, braille, or any other medium
besides print.
Also, if I don't specify a media, does it default to "all"? And will this
affect the print stylesheet?
Yes, an stylesheet with no specified media defaults to "all," and
the styles in an all-media stylesheet will apply in all media,
including print.
