Here's what I came up with:
   large = 14.4px
 medium = 12px

Your conversion chart uses the wrong length unit. The spec says:
"if the 'medium' font is 12pt, the 'large' font could be 14.4pt"

I recognized that the W3 was saying PT and I was talking PX.

However the scaling factor remains 1.2 whether the unit is 12pt or 12px.
