There are methods of applying CSS other than inline, linked (or imported),
and in the head? What are you thinking of?

meta tags and http can supply a method akin to link.
IE has a specific javascript mechanism it can use. (In difference to using the dom to add one of the previously mentioned methods)
Then there's the xml pi.
