my plugin for VDR is making good progress. The osd is almost functional,

I forgot to mention, that the OSD rendering (for example fonts) is done by VDR. I only use xine_osd_draw_bitmap() to get the VDR supplied data to screen.

http://home.vr-web.de/~rnissl/vdr-osd-xine-xv.jpg shows you the upper left corner of the same menue, when xine uses the xv video output module. There are noticeable distortions (BTW: this is my first off screen shot).

it's hard to say from the image, but i guess you are probably
experiencing some sort of "color leaking"?

What can I do about that issue?

BTW: The "shadows" you see for example in the OSD text are not a matter of taking the photograph, they really appear on screen. Is there a better way to take a screen shot of a xv-window?

the cause is the current blending code for YV12, it doesn't account the
subsampling correctly. it is possible that U and V planes are
incorrectly blended on edges (the behaviour may depend on even/odd
pixels).

Please explain that a little more, if you think, that I can do anything about that issue in the supplied OSD data, because the same data looks quite ok with xshm.

Bye.
