problem with installing xine

Hi Everyone,

First I'd like to thank you for your responses so far, it was very useful
advice. I downloaded xine-lib-0.9.13 and tried to install it on SuSE 8.2 by
running a ./configure and then make, however I am getting compiler errors:

{standard input}:1009: Error: suffix or operands invalid for `pcmpgtw'

I tried downloading the latest copy of xine-lib from cvs but couldn't run a
./configure on it. It is for windows?
How do I get a copy working on my environment, xine-lib-0.9.13, cvs or
otherwise?
