Subject subtitles

First, thank you for a great product

Second I was wondering whether VLC for OS X has support for subtitling 
(.srt files that often come with .avi files)

If so, please let me know how to use this feature by pointing me to 
documentation online if it exists.

If not, please consider it as a future feature...
