Some things about VLC..

First of all, I think VLC is a great program. With new features like DVD menus and deinterlacing I prefer it over Apple's DVD player. Even though there are lots of great things about VLC I have a few problems with it. In most DVD players subtitles appear as yellow, white or another color depending on how the DVD was done. In VLC subtitles are a sort of translucent grey that's very hard to read. Are there settings to change this or any plans to change it in future VLC releases? Thanks for reading this and for providing such a great, free solution for watching and streaming digital media. -- -- This is the vlc mailing-list, see http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ To unsubscribe, please read http://www.videolan.org/support/lists.html If you are in trouble, please contact <postmaster@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

VLC and the flow of dvd image

Congratulations for your program. But I have a problem. When I try the vlc program to read a DVD the image doesn't flow well, it jumps. Anyone could tell me why? My computer is an ibook (macintosh) with a 500 mhz processor. Another question. I'm a newbie in these subjects. Can vlc read dvds from any region without restrictions? Thank you very much -- This is the vlc mailing-list, see http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ To unsubscribe, please read http://www.videolan.org/support/lists.html If you are in trouble, please contact <postmaster@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

Re: XVID

Xvid is different from divx. See www.xvid.org for details. There are codec modules for windows that let you watch xvid in windows media player (and possibly others) I don't know the details but I'm sure google will help you. Anyway vlc 0.5.2 should play xvid with no problem at all.
