Summary: Please help.Linux crash

Initial Comment:
I have a strange problem. I've installed Linux Fedora
Core and with the default kernel tvtime it's working
perfectly. Unfortunately with my compiled kernel tvtime
makes linux crash in about 5 minutes. It freezes and I
can't do anything. I've installed v4l2 and the last
bttv 0.911 and the last nvidia driver and nothing.

It is good to know that my xawtv makes linux crash too,
if I select grabdisplay with my new kernel but with the
default kernel it works perfectly.

Well it's definitely some sort of kernel problem, maybe
having to do with AGP, or with DMA? Can you give some more
details on what kernel you are using and how you compiled it?

Also, can you try _not_ running xawtv and just running
tvtime after a reboot, does it crash then? Running xawtv in
overlay mode on NVIDIA cards can cause crashes.
