Summary: Add recording to raw or MPEG

Initial Comment:
It would be great if I could use the tvtime
deinterlacing features for video capture.

Would it be possible to for tvtime to output its
deinterlaced video and captured audio to an
uncompressed AVI or MPEG?

Nobody has taken up any of the code in CVS on this issue, so
this bug will not be solved for 1.0.

There are two things here:
1. I'd like to do recording in tvtime somehow. My lossless
compression codec is in CVS (diffcomp.*) and my quick
recording app I wrote a long time ago is there too (rvr and
related files), but it would be nice to have this integrated
somehow into tvtime.
2. Recording deinterlaced video isn't the right thing to do:
you should record the interlaced stream directly, and
deinterlace on display. Recording to MPEG1 is impossible,
MPEG1 only supports progressive. MPEG2 supports interlaced
encoding, but I know of no open source realtime MPEG2
encoder. MPEG4 has an interlaced mode, I don't know if any
of the fast open implementations support it though.

Thoughts? Any help with the recording stuff would be awesome.
