I think we need to at least understand what's going on before 0.9.13. Marking this as high priority. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2004-04-11 12:24 Message: Logged In: NO Well, I don't know I have MSI TV@nywhere Master (MS8606), it's NTSC/PAL/SECAM cx23881-27 based tv-card. In modprobe I've tried lots of parameters, but in dmesg I always see NTSC+BTSC, I should use PAL D/K, with A2 or NICAM audio... As far as I know xawtv sets PAL to PAL D/K and Audio to A2 while switching between channels (I've seen it in dmesg), but it does not make my sound work anyway (probably v4l driver in version 0.0.3 is not quite ready yet, or there is some other problem...) Here is how I modprobe: # modprobe tda9887 pal=d # modprobe tuner type=33 pal=d # modprobe cx8800 audio_debug=1 video_debug=1 nicam=1 and matching part of dmesg: Linux video capture interface: v1.00 cx2388x v4l2 driver version 0.0.3 loaded cx8800[0]: found at 0000:00:07.0, rev: 3, irq: 10, latency: 64, mmio: 0xde000000 cx8800[0]: subsystem: 1462:8606, board: MSI TV-@nywhere Master [card=7,autodetected] cx8800[0]: cx8800_reset cx8800[0]: i2c attach [client=eeprom] tda9885/6/7: chip found @ 0x86 cx8800[0]: i2c attach [client=tda9887] tuner: chip found at addr 0xc2 i2c-bus cx8800[0] tuner: type set to 33 (MT20xx universal) by cx8800[0] tuner: microtune: companycode=3cbf part=42 rev=21 tuner: microtune MT2050 found, OK cx8800[0]: i2c attach [client=MT20xx universal] tuner: The type=<n> insmod option will go away soon. tuner: Please use the tuner=<n> option provided by tuner: tv aard core driver (bttv, saa7134, ...) instead. cx8800[0]: i2c register ok cx8800[0]: registered device video0 [v4l2] cx8800[0]: registered device vbi0 cx8800[0]: set_control id=0x980909 reg=0x320594 val=0x40 [shadowed] cx8800[0]: set_control id=0x980905 reg=0x320594 val=0x0 [shadowed] cx8800[0]: set_tvnorm: "NTSC-M" fsc8=28636360 adc=28636363 vdec=28636360 cx8800[0]: set_pll: MO_PLL_REG 0x00fffffe [old=0x013d14c6,freq=28636360] cx8800[0]: pll locked [pre=2,ofreq=28636360] cx8800[0]: set_tvnorm: MO_INPUT_FORMAT 0x00000001 [old=0x00000007] cx8800[0]: set_tvnorm: MO_OUTPUT_FORMAT 0x181f0008 [old=0x181f0008] cx8800[0]: set_tvnorm: MO_SCONV_REG 0x00020000 [old=0x00019d5e] cx8800[0]: set_tvnorm: MO_SUB_STEP 0x00400000 [old=0x00400000] cx8800[0]: set_tvnorm: MO_SUB_STEP_DR 0x004ec7ed [old=0x003f9adc] cx8800[0]: set_tvnorm: MO_AGC_BURST 0x00007270 [old=0x00008887,bdelay=114,agcdelay=112] cx8800[0]: set_tvnorm: MO_HTOTAL 0x0000138e [old=0x00001c6f,htotal=910] cx8800[0]: set_audio_standard_BTSC (status: unknown) cx8800[0]: video_mux: 0 [vmux=0,gpio=0x0,0x0,0x0,0x0] Michal ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Billy Biggs (vektor) Date: 2004-04-11 09:37 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=153320 The difference between PAL-DK and the default PAL-BG is the audio carrier. It's at 6.5 MHz with PAL-D and 5.5 MHz with PAL-BG. Usually, the tuner hardware on your capture card is able to auto-detect this. If this fails, there is a module parameter for the tuner module to change the standard. Add: options tuner pal=d Or use: modprobe tuner pal=d To force your tuner into PAL-DK mode. This is not something (as far as I know) that we can control in tvtime. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=506987&aid=929163&group_id=64301 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by Black Hat Briefings & Training.
