Initial Comment:
I think it'd be a nice feature if tvtime would mute the audio or switch to 
another channel when ads come on the current channel.

The problem ist how to see when ads are there:
- In europe, the station logo is hidden in commercials. So we'd need 
the logo position for every channel; this could be done by hand first in 
an ini-file or so. Then this region had to be compared with the last 
second, and when the overall picture change is above a threshold, it's 
ad or not ad. Maybe a grayscsale picture of the normal logo could help 
to determine if it's ad time or not.
- In USA, the sound is often 25% or so louder 

Nevertheless, very good job!

I don't think we will be able to do this so easily.  Maybe
if we watched for fades to black?  I hear some PVRs do that.
 It would be possible, but it's not in the 1.0 plan. 
Hopefully someone will post a patch. :)

Yes, this would be very good and usefull feature, also it's
true for channel logo - in Lithuania channel logo
dissappears during commercials too and sound is increased.
