aw come on, this is just silly vacuous FUD ;) 

it's well known that M$ breaches far more patents, apple is being sued all over 
the place for it's
dirty shoes. these don't make news because these monopolists provide 
indemnification for users,
something Novell, Redhat and IBM also now offer in turn for linux
'customers'. 

secondly this only has any real merit if the EU Patents Directive actually goes
through (for Europeans at least). we'll see whether Asia picks up on the
cannibalistic tendencies of the US patent model.

yesterday Poland pulled out of support after a month or two of similar
digressions; so things are looking grim for the vampires at the EU
Patent Office. 

any patent office is, after all, just another paper-pushing business; it's in 
their interest 
to register as many patents as possible.

this absurdist theatre of rampant patenting will all fall to pieces anyway, 
with the inevitable 
application of a "Method for Entering a Room before Someone Else" (the Mother 
of all patents).
