Hello fellow Piksellers,

Before we all get drown "into a possibly limitless pile of things to 
do", to quote Carlo, i would like to seed here on the list the question 
we all posed each other for some days: how to found initiatives and 
sustain in a more effective way our work.

On this path some of us agreed to launch a sort of "temporary interest 
group" and to put the bases of  a serious coordinate attempt to answer 
the question.

Indeed one of the needs emerged from brainstorming was to gather 
efforts at national and transnational level, managing to enforce local 
initiatives with a kind of "umbrella organization" that also 
facilitates the sharing of information about the topic. Very 
practically, gaining support from a town or from a local institution is 
easier if you can show your international connections, gaining you 
possibly spaces and other form of public support. I personally think 
that this "umbrella" initiative is a fruit of Bergen's rainy climate, 
and a good one. We shall articulate a strategy and elaborate some 
thinking on this path.

Indeed I will commit myself in a serious attempt to link to EU founding 
for the free software initiatives involving us here in holland, and to 
raise the interest of local institutions, in the ways we can find 
together and in connection with the  interested parties in this list.
I will not make this letter longer, because all the talking already too 
fresh in our head, and the urge to look forward to practical steps. I 
will just start moving, counting us, and keeping people informed along 
the path.

Is a seed, and  maybe we shall made it in a separate tread (maybe 
something like  a temporary@xxxxxxxxxx mailing list?), but all those 
who are interested in sharing information and contributing to this 
research please get in touch!
