problem with convert

Hi,

using ImageMagick 6.0.8 09/28/04 Q16 http://www.imagemagick.org
<http://www.imagemagick.org> :

convert a.tif a.ilbm

produces:
convert: unable to open image `a.ilbm': No such file or directory.

Though the following line exists in delegates.mgk:
  <delegate decode="pnm" encode="ilbm" mode="encode" command='"ppmtoilbm"
    -24if  "%i" > "%o"' />
and ppmtoilbm exists in the system. Changing the command from ppmtoilbm
to a non-existing program yields the same results, while using
convert a.tif a.foo
just copies a.tif to a.foo  (without any error message).
