AFAIK the errors avview prints out are non-fatal, i.e. it should work 
anyway.

These just means that it didn't find remote control.

This denotes that avview can't capture from your webcam, but that's just 
capture. Viewing TV should be possible even if no capture devices are 
found. Besides, the next line probably means that it did find the km 
device:

Which version of X.org are you using? 6.9.0 or newer is recommended. Also, 
check Xorg.log for errors.
