Hi,
mp4(ftyp mp41 or mp42) and mov(ftyp qt ) are not the same. You could
say ISO base media file format(ftyp isom) is more ore less the same as mov.
Most files around that claim to be a mp4 file (ftyp mp41/2) are b0rked,
because the IOD and BIFS/OD Track is missing or incomplete.

Ok, with most files around it doesn't make a difference,if there is a
BIFS or OD Track, they will be displayed right. But in a spec compliant
mp4 file have to be a BIFS/OD Track and IOD.

There are simply no(or less) mp4 player around. Most player around are
more or less mov/ISO base media file format player.
If you want to display a mp4 file with a more complex scene, you will
need a mp4 player(like Osmo4) - not a mov player.
