Subject: profiling in mac os - msg#00177

List: video.ffmpeg.user

Date: Prev Next Index Thread: Prev Next Index
Hi

I using ffmpeg in a powerpc machine with mac os x.

I want to use gprof in order to profile the execution on the h264 decoder.

But when I run the program I cannot find the gmon.out output file with
the profiling results.

./ffmpeg
ffmpeg version CVS, build 3277056, Copyright (c) 2000-2004 Fabrice Bellard
configuration: --prefix=/Users/alvarez/usr/local/ --disable-ffserver
--disable-ffplay --enable-gprof
built on Oct 31 2005 15:55:47, gcc: 3.3 20030304 (Apple Computer, Inc.
build 1495)

It seems that the version of gcc that comes with mac does not activate
the profiling when '-p' flag is passed, being necessary to pass '-pg'.
But -pg has a conflict with the optimization option '-fomit-frame-pointer'

I made a change in the Makefiles, adding the 'pg' option instead of 'p'.
and eliminating the '-fomit-frame-pointer' flag. In that way the
profiling information is generated correctly.

I don't know how to make these changes into the autoconf utility in
order to make it by default. I also I don't know if this is the best way
to have the activate the profiling.

Any suggestion is welcome.

Thanks.

Mauricio Alvarez

How to make ffmpeg MPEG2TS output from two or more sources?

Hello, I wish to make one mpeg2ts file from two sound cards in my PC. Is there way to do this with ffmpeg? Related to here: http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/dvbt/ ``I used a patched version of FFmpeg to generate a custom DVB Transport Stream containing two DVB services.'' Anyone have this patches? Thank you.

Ok, so this mail is now also going to ffmpeg-user, and hopefully followups will only be there. I don't need to upload the files, I just have to say where I got them :) <http://downloads.oreilly.com/make/MAKE_2005-07-18.m4b> has JPEG images, and works in mplayer. <http://downloads.oreilly.com/make/MAKE_2005-08-01.m4b> (and all the others from the RSS feed I linked above) has TIFF images, and the pictures aren't displayed (audio works). -- Joshua 'bruce' Crawford ... http://www.geocities.com/mortarn Quando omni flunkus moritati pgptCnr1zX1UJ.pgp Description: PGP signature _______________________________________________ MPlayer-users mailing list MPlayer-users@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://mplayerhq.hu/mailman/listinfo/mplayer-users
